Guest speakers
Nikki Lowy, Director of City & Community Outreach & Programming, Mills/Northeastern University
She is excited at the prospect of working with us and the MPNC in a number of ways in the future, such as with our MPERT emergency preparedness effort headed by Naomi Weinstein
She would like to initiate a Community Advisory Board with local leaders.
She will show slides about topics of interest to our community such as access procedures, especially for dog walking and other programs.
Captain Clay Burch, Regional Security Director, Northeastern University
He will discuss his vision of his non-sworn officers patrolling in the neighborhoods around the campus. In addition to the campus itself.
He is working with OPD on an MOU regarding coordination between his officers and OPD in the neighborhoods
Both will explain their larger vision for the expansion of enrollment at the University and it's implications for the surrounding community

Maxwell Park Community: Public Safety Meeting
Join us to address safety concerns in Maxwell Park, get updates on in-progress initiatives, develop an action plan, and work towards a safer, more secure neighborhood for all.

Maxwell Park Neighborhood Council Community Meeting
In our upcoming meeting, District 6 City Councilmember Kevin Jenkins will share updates from across the district and City Hall. In addition Emilio Mena from the Department of Violence Prevention will present on the department's public health approach to violence prevention, emphasizing a $8.8 million investment in targeted programs addressing gun, group, and gender-based violence. Lastly, following up from the September 2023 MPNC Safety Neighborhood Action Team (NAT) meeting, Nathan Green will present survey results and proposals from the Camera and Lighting subcommittee.
